VIRGINIA CAPITAL TRAIL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY TODAY

The trail parallels scenic Rt. 5 from Richmond to Jamestown

WHAT:  State and local officials will gather for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Virginia Capital Trail project. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) completed paving of the trail September 10, 2015. Over fifty connected miles of shared-use trail are now open to cyclists and pedestrians. The event is open to the public.

WHERE: Virginia Holocaust Museum, located at 2000 E. Cary St., Richmond, VA

WHEN: Friday, October 2 at 5:30 p.m.

SPEAKERS: Terry McAuliffe, the Governor of Virginia

Aubrey Layne, Virginia Secretary of Transportation

Dwight C. Jones, Mayor of Richmond

Jimmy Carr, Virginia Capital Trail Foundation Board member

Charles Donato, Chairman, Virginia Capital Trail Foundation Board of Directors

PARKING: Parking will be available in the museum lot.
