COMMISSIONER OF HIGHWAYS APPROVES TWO HANOVER CONTRACTS VALUED AT MORE THAN $700,000
COLONIAL HEIGHTS — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Commissioner of Highways Greg Whirley approved two contracts this month with a total value of $707,000 for Richmond District construction and maintenance.
Jireh Construction Company Inc. of Richmond was awarded two contracts totaling $707,000 for drainage improvements along Routes 634 (Beatties Mill Road), 615 (Williamsville Road), 605 (River Road) and 676 (Pouncey Tract Road) in Hanover County. The projects will begin in September and are expected to be completed in late fall 2013.

VDOT’s Richmond District oversees maintenance and construction activities on routes in 14 counties in central Virginia: Amelia, Brunswick, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico (primary routes only), Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan and Prince George counties.
