COMMISSIONER OF HIGHWAYS APPROVES ONE CONTRACT VALUED AT $193,427
COLONIAL HEIGHTS — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Commissioner of Highways Greg Whirley approved one contract with a total value of $193,427 for Central Virginia construction and maintenance this month.
Colony Construction Inc. of Powhatan was awarded a $193,427 contract to pave the shoulders and overlay Creighton Road (Route 615) between Cold Harbor Road (Route 156) and Walnut Grove Road (Route 636). Construction is expected to start in March 2013 and be completed in May, 2013.
VDOT’s Richmond District oversees maintenance and construction activities on routes in 14 counties in central Virginia: Amelia, Brunswick, Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico (primary routes only), Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan and Prince George counties.
