Includes I-64 maintenance and repairs

COLONIAL HEIGHTS — The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) approved three contracts last week with a total value of $41.8 million for Richmond District construction and maintenance.

Infrastructure Corporation of America (ICA) of Brentwood, TN was awarded a five year contract for $32 million for management and performance of ordinary and preventive maintenance on Interstate 64, east of Richmond in the counties of Henrico, New Kent, James City and York and the cities of Hampton and Newport News between mile markers 200 and 268.

Corman Construction, Inc. of Annapolis Junction, MD was awarded a $7.8 million contract to rehabilitate the I-64 bridge over the CSX railroad and Shockoe Creek in downtown Richmond. The bridge, like many other structures throughout Virginia, has reached its maintenance life of approximately 40 years. The project will require at least one lane and shoulder closure. D. W. Lyle Corp. of Clarksville, VA was awarded a contract for $2 million to repair the approaches and abutments on both sides of the Varina Enon Bridge. At least two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times during construction. The project is expected to be complete in
December 2011.
