COMMISSIONER APPROVES FOUR CONTRACTS VALUED AT $3.6 MILLION
COLONIAL HEIGHTS — Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Commissioner of Highways, Greg Whirley, approved four contracts last week totaling approximately $3.6 million for Richmond District construction and maintenance.
L.S. Lee Inc. of Richmond was awarded a $1.6 million contract for regional guardrail upgrades in Fredericksburg and Richmond districts.
D.W. Lyle Corporation of Clarksville was awarded a $1.4 million contract to replace the Route 1 north bridge over Stony Creek, just south of Route 647 in Dinwiddie County.
Abernathy Construction Corporation of Glen Allen was awarded a $569,000 contract to replace the Route 156 bridge over Western Run (one mile north of Route 5) in Henrico County.
Howard Brother Contractor Inc. of Providence Forge was awarded a $100,000 contract for pipe replacement on Route 603 (one mile north of Route 610) in Goochland County.
