TRANSPORTATION COMMISSIONER APPROVES A MECKLENBURG PAVING CONTRACT

COLONIAL HEIGHTS—Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Commissioner David Ekern approved a contract last week valued at approximately $240,000 for pavement improvements in Mecklenburg County.

Clary Construction Co. Inc., of Lawrenceville, VA was awarded a contract to apply a hard travel surface to approximately one mile of Dairy Farm Road between Route 609 and 695. The unpaved roadway will be surfaced using a prime and double seal application to accommodate the increasing vehicular traffic. The project is expected to be completed by August 2010.
