Rt 7/Dulles Toll Rd Overnight Closures Begin Tonight
Full closures up to 20 minutes

TYSONS – Intermittent full closures lasting up to 20 minutes each during overnight hours at Route 7 and the Dulles Toll Road will occur tonight as well as Thursday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 22, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The closures will occur each night between midnight and 5 a.m. as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 15 & Thursday, March 16: Ramps from eastbound Dulles Airport Access Road to eastbound & westbound Route 7, and eastbound Route 7 to eastbound Dulles Toll Road for work on new pedestrian bridge  
  • Wednesday, March 22: Westbound Dulles Toll Road and westbound Dulles Airport Access Road to remove girders from old Route 7 overpass

In addition, the loop ramp from eastbound Route 7 to eastbound Dulles Toll Road will be closed tonight and Thursday, March 16 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night for pedestrian bridge work. In order to access eastbound Dulles Toll Road, traffic on eastbound Route 7 will be detoured via a u-turn at the Tyco Road intersection onto westbound Route 7.

Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes. All work is weather permitting.

The work is part of the Route 7 over Dulles Toll Road project, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2018.
