Portsmouth Boulevard Closure at Belmont Ridge Road Oct. 13-16
Detour in place during intersection work, Belmont Ridge Road will remain open

Update: Due to weather, this work has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23.

– Portsmouth Boulevard will be closed at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road (Route 659) from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16 for intersection construction, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Traffic will be detoured via Belmont Ridge Road, Hay Road (Route 642) and Claiborne Parkway (Route 901) back to Portsmouth Boulevard. Traffic on Belmont Ridge Road will still be able to travel in both directions through the Portsmouth Boulevard intersection as normal.

The work is part of the Belmont Ridge Road widening project, which is scheduled for completion in late 2018.
