MIDDLEBURG – Crews have officially completed work on traffic-calming measures and pedestrian and safety improvements along Route 50 (Washington Street) in the Town of Middleburg, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The improvements include new brick crosswalks, granite curbs and pedestrian lighting, as well as enhanced sidewalks and the replacement and upgrade of over 2,000 feet of water main.

The $4.2 million project was completed on time and under budget. It’s the last in a series of traffic calming measures and safety improvements implemented along the Route 50 corridor in Upperville, Aldie, and Gilberts Corner.
