TREACHEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS IN N. VIRGINIA
Drivers asked to avoid driving until conditions improve

FAIRFAX—Road conditions are treacherous in northern Virginia and the Virginia Department of Transportation is urging drivers to delay travel or use extreme caution if they must travel. More than 2,300 trucks are treating and plowing roads in Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain will make driving a challenge throughout the day. “If you must drive please slow down and be prepared for very slippery roads and poor visibility. As long as the snow is coming down, VDOT crews will be repeatedly treating and plowing the roads,” said Branco Vlacich head of maintenance for VDOT in northern Virginia.
