ROUTE 9 DETOUR TONIGHT AND FRIDAY
Final paving of roundabouts
PAEONIAN SPRINGS – Drivers can expect northbound Route 9 (Charles Town Pike) at the Route 7 interchange to be closed from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight and Friday night for paving at the roundabouts, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Drivers will be detoured via Route 704 (Hamilton Station Road).
The paving is part of the last phase of work for the roundabouts, which are expected to be complete and in their ultimate two-lane configuration by Dec. 12.
The roundabouts are the final piece of $36.4 million worth of operational improvements along Route 7 west of Leesburg, which included a truck-climbing lane from West Market Street to Route 9, realignment of the Washington and Old Dominion Trail, and improvements for community access along the corridor including at Roxbury Hall Lane, Fort Johnson Road, and Beechnut Road.
