Eastbound Route 7 lane closures, access to/from Sugarland Road being restored

***** NOTICE: This work has been POSTPONED. A new Traffic Alert will be issued once new dates are determined.

DRANESVILLE – Between 9 p.m. Friday, October 16 and noon Sunday, October 18, eastbound Route 7 traffic will be shifted to newly constructed lanes between Rolling Holly Drive and Reston Avenue, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Alternating eastbound lane closures will occur between 9 Friday night and noon Sunday. Motorists can expect moderate to major delays during this time.

In addition, Sugarland Road at Route 7 will reopen to traffic in its reconstructed and improved configuration by Sunday afternoon.

The work is part of the project to widen Route 7 from four to six lanes between Rolling Holly Drive and Reston Avenue. The $34 million project is scheduled for completion in December.
