ROUTE 7 TRAFFIC SHIFT AT ROUTE 193 FRIDAY NIGHT
Westbound Route 7 traffic shifting to new lanes, new ramp opening

DRANESVILLE – Between 10 p.m. Friday, August 14 and 5 a.m. Saturday, August 15, traffic on westbound Route 7 will be shifted to the newly constructed lanes from Reston Avenue to Rolling Holly Drive, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

In addition, traffic entering Route 193 from Route 7 will be shifted to the west and the access ramp from Route 193 to westbound Route 7 will be opened.

Motorists can expect lane closures on both Route 7 and Route 193 in the area between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.

The shift is needed to allow the next phase of construction to proceed for the project to widen Route 7 from four to six lanes between Reston Avenue and Rolling Holly Drive. The $34 million project is scheduled for completion in December.
