ROUTE 28/ROUTE 50 SPUR RAMP TO OPEN THURSDAY MORNING
Lane closures begin Wednesday night to open new ramp to Lee Road

CHANTILLY – On Thursday morning, September 24, a new spur ramp will open off the ramp from southbound Route 28 to westbound Route 50, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Lane closures between 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 23 and 5:30 a.m. Thursday will be required to open the new spur ramp, which will provide access to Lee Road.

During the lane closures, motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.

The spur ramp will connect the southbound Route 28/westbound Route 50 ramp to a new traffic signal on westbound Route 50. Spur ramp traffic will cross over westbound Route 50 at the signal to two new dedicated turn lanes to southbound Lee Road.

The ramp is part of the $94.9 million project to widen Route 50 from four to six lanes between Route 28 in Fairfax County and Poland Road in Loudoun County. The project is scheduled for substantial completion in October and final completion in November. For more information, visit the project page.
