JOIN VDOT FOR INFO MEETING ON WALKER ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
June 3 at Forestville Elementary School

GREAT FALLS—The Virginia Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting Wednesday, June 3 on plans to replace the existing bridge and approaches of Walker Road (Route 681) over Piney Run, just north of Colvin Run Road in Fairfax County. The new bridge will be a 50-foot-long, single-span structure with a total width of 33 feet to 47 feet and will accommodate constant two-way traffic without the use of existing yield signs.

The public can stop by between 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Forestville Elementary School, 1085 Utterback Store Road, Great Falls, VA 22066.

The meeting will be an open-house format with VDOT staff on hand to discuss project information, including traffic impacts and schedule, and answer questions.

Written comments may be given at the meeting. They may also be mailed to Mr. Terry Yates, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030 or emailed to meeting_comments@VDOT.virginia.gov.

The cost estimate for the project is $4.7 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2017.
