LANE CLOSURES ON RT. 29 OVER LITTLE ROCKY RUN
Bridge replacement through October 2015

FAIRFAX ─ Lane closures begin this week on Lee Highway over Little Rocky Run, as the Virginia Department of Transportation replaces the structurally deficient bridge to improve safety and increase traffic flow.

During construction, drivers can expect some off-peak lane closures and traffic shifts from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday; and overnight on weekends as crews replace the bridge. All work is weather permitting and message signs are in place to notify drivers.

The $17.3-million project will widen the bridge from four to six lanes, provide a ten-foot trail on the south side, and a five-foot sidewalk to the north.

Shirley Contracting Company is the contractor, and completion is scheduled for October 2015.
The Route 29 bridge carries approximately 36,000 vehicles per day. For more information, visit the VDOT project page.
