GEORGETOWN PIKE PAVING WORK SHIFTING TO DAYTIME

GREAT FALLS – Due to the cold weather, the Virginia Department of Transportation is shifting its Route 193/Georgetown Pike paving from nighttime to daytime.

Paving is now scheduled between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (with the exception of Sunday, Nov. 9, when no paving is scheduled), and between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. One lane will be closed for paving and the other will be used alternatively for traffic in each direction.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes during paving work hours.

VDOT has completed over 90% of the paving project, which spans eight miles from I-495 to Springvale Road. The remaining work is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 20, weather permitting.
