VDOT TO HOST PUBLIC HEARING ON THE WOODS ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
Join VDOT Oct. 29 at J.L. Simpson Middle School
LEESBURG— The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a location and design public hearing on a project to realign and pave the gravel portion of The Woods Road in Loudoun County.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at J.L. Simpson Middle School, 490 Evergreen Mill Road, SE, Leesburg, VA. In the event that the school is closed that day, the public hearing will be held at the same time and location on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013.
The purpose of the public hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss plans to improve conditions on The Woods Road. The $4.4 million project is scheduled to begin construction in 2015. The new road will feature two ten-foot-wide travel lanes, five-foot-wide paved shoulders for cyclists and turn lanes at the Evergreen Mills Road intersection.
No formal presentations will be made at the public hearing; however, VDOT staff will be on hand to discuss project information.
Citizens may provide oral or written comments at the hearing or submit them by Nov. 8, 2013 to James C. Zeller, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030. Comments may also be emailed to email@example.com. Please reference “The Woods Road” in the subject line.
