VDOT MEETING FOR SANDS AND TAYLOR ROADS NEXT WEEK
Join VDOT April 8 at Hamilton Elementary School
HAMILTON—Join the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for a “pardon our dust” meeting on the paving of two gravel roads outside the Town of Hamilton beginning later this month. Residents are invited to meet the project team and learn more about the construction schedule and traffic impacts on Monday, April 8 from 6-7 p.m. at Hamilton Elementary School, 54 South Kerr Street in Hamilton.
The project will:
- Reconstruct and pave Sands Road (Route 709) from Manassas Gap Court to Saint Paul Street (a distance of about 0.9 mile). The total cost is about $1.9 million.
- Reconstruct and pave Taylor Road (Route 726) from Wooded Hollow Drive to Sands Road (a distance of about 0.4 mile). The total cost is about $288,000.
The contractor is Kickin Asphalt, Inc. from Strasburg, Va., and work is expected to be complete in July 2013.
