VDOT CREWS PREPARE FOR FREEZING RAIN
Limit or delay Monday morning travel; icy conditions expected

FAIRFAX―Virginia Department of Transportation crews in northern Virginia are preparing for freezing rain overnight and tomorrow morning. With icy road conditions expected during rush hour, VDOT urges motorists to telework or delay travel until after 10 a.m. Monday.

About 770 trucks are patrolling roads in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties, continuously treating icy spots such as ramps, bridges, elevated surfaces and other problem areas.

Drivers are encouraged to check current weather, road conditions and traffic cameras before traveling at www.511virginia.org or by calling 511.

Click here for more information on northern Virginia’s snow removal program, and report road problems to 1-800-FOR-ROAD or novainfo@vdot.virginia.gov.
