COTTAGE STREET TO CLOSE FOR RECONSTRUCTION
Pardon our dust meeting Aug. 28 at Vienna Town Hall
VIENNA―Next week, the Virginia Department of Transportation will begin work to reconstruct Cottage Street between Walker Street and Patrick Street (about 0.3 miles) in the Town of Vienna. The project includes new sidewalk, curb and gutter, entrances, drainage, utilities, sign replacement, asphalt pavement and pavement markings, and is expected to be complete in May 2013.
Beginning Aug. 29 and throughout construction, this area of Cottage Street will be closed to thru traffic. Thru traffic should follow the posted detour via Cedar Lane, Park Street and Kingsley Road. See Google maps showing the routes: http://goo.gl/maps/amN9W (eastbound) and http://goo.gl/maps/Ao9Es (westbound). Local traffic will still be able to access Cottage Street.
Message signs will be in place to notify drivers of the upcoming work. Area residents and drivers are also invited to attend a “pardon our dust” meeting with VDOT and the Town of Vienna at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the Vienna Town Hall, 127 Center Street South, Vienna, Virginia 22180.
Fort Myers Construction Corporation is the contractor for the $1.6 million project.
