TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT DELAYS IN GAINESVILLE FOR UTILITY WORK
FAIRFAX ― Motorists should expect delays on southbound Route 29 in Gainesville over the next two days for emergencyutility work according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
One lane will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday until noon Friday (June 9-10) and from 9 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday (June 10-11). At times, all southbound lanes will be stopped for up to 15 minutes. The closure is between Linton Hall Road and the railroad tracks.
Northbound Route 29 is not affected.
Alternate routes are:
- Heathcote Boulevard to Catharpin Road to Route 55, or
- University Boulevard to Wellington Road to Linton Hall Road.
