FAIRFAX ― Motorists should avoid Route 1 in Triangle from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, as a planned rally will close Fuller Road at the main gate to Quantico Marine Corps Base and reduce Route 1 to one lane in each direction at the intersection of Fuller Road and Joplin Road (Route 619), according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

To avoid traffic delays, motorists should avoid Route 1 between Russell Road and Brady’s Hill Road in Triangle.  Alternate routes for through traffic on Route 1 include I-95. Access to Fuller Heights Road from Fuller Road will be prohibited and motorists should use Graham Park Road to Old Triangle Road.

Message signs will be posted alerting motorists to the closure.
