TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON OLD LINTON HALL ROAD
Huron Drive detour to be in place for about one month
GAINESVILLE― Beginning the first week in Oct. 10, 2011, Old Linton Hall Road in Gainesville will be temporarily limited to one-way traffic, as crews install a 24-inch water main as part of the ongoing Route 29/Linton Hall Road interchange project. The detour is expected to last about one month.
Old Linton Hall Road will be limited to southbound traffic only between Whitney Road and Lakeview Drive. Motorists traveling northbound will be detoured via Lakeview Drive and Huron Drive (see detour map below). Message boards and detour signage will be posted throughout the area.
By limiting Old Linton Hall Road to one-way traffic, crews expect construction along the route to take approximately half the time of using daily lane closures.
See VDOT's project page for more details on the $267 million Route 29/Linton Hall Road interchange project, which will be complete in 2015.
