VDOT FINISHES REBUILD OF DUKE STREET RAMP TO I-395
Bus and truck restriction lifted today

Duke Street ramp to I-395

CHANTILLY – Motorists will have a smoother transition from Duke Street (Route 236) to northbound I-395 in Alexandria beginning today, as the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has finished rebuilding the ramp, more than two months ahead of schedule.

Also as of today, barriers restricting bus and truck traffic on the ramp have been removed. The ramp had been narrowed since September 2008.

The $5.45 million project was finished two months ahead of its December completion date. Crews installed a new concrete deck on the ramp overpass, as well as new curb, guardrails and lighting.

Visit the Duke Street ramp reconstruction project page for more information.
