5 P.M. VIRGINIA INAUGURATION TRAFFIC CONDITION UPDATE
Both interstates were temporarily closed due to pedestrian traffic crossing the 14th Street Bridge and the Roosevelt Bridge.
The HOV-3 lanes for I-395 are open southbound and the HOV-2 lanes on I-66 are open westbound.
There are currently no significant delays on transit systems serving Virginia. As of 3:45 p.m., the Federal Triangle Metro station had reopened. The Judiciary Square Station is closed for the rest of the night.
Metro reports more than 656,800 people have used the system today. As of 4 p.m., Virginia Railway Express (VRE) reports more than 18,000 people have used the commuter rail service.
VRE service is reserved for people who have special VRE inauguration tickets. No tickets are available for purchase on VRE today
