TRAFFIC ALERT: NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL COMING TO ROUTE 58 AND ROUTE 841 INTERSECTION IN PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY

LYNCHBURG – A new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 58 (Martinsville Highway) and Route 841 (Whispering Pines Road) in Pittsylvania County is anticipated to be activated next week.  To alert drivers to the upcoming activation, the signal will be set to flashing mode on Wednesday, May 18.

Short-term lane closures will be in place on Wednesday, May 18, at this intersection sometime mid-morning, while signal crews uncover the new signal heads. 

The new signal will remain in flashing mode for approximately 48 hours.  Weather and schedule permitting, the new signal is expected to go into full operation on Friday, May 20, sometime mid-morning.

Message boards will be used to notify motorists of this change in traffic patterns.  Motorists are advised to use caution.
