ROUTE 29 SOUTH MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT TO CHANGE IN TRAFFIC PATTERN

LYNCHBURG—Motorists who travel Route 29 South in Pittsylvania County should be alert to a change in traffic pattern beginning Thursday, June 16.

Southbound traffic will be switched to a northbound lane and a two-way traffic situation and 50 mph speed limit will be in place while the functionally deficient bridge over the Norfolk-Southern Railroad between Whittles and Chatham is replaced.

Temporary crossovers have been completed and message boards are in place to alert motorists to this change.

The prime contractor on the approximately $4.6 million project is Haymes Brothers, Inc. of Chatham and the project completion is scheduled for June 20, 2017.
