EASTBOUND TRAVEL LANE OF US 58 NEAR HALIFAX/PITTSYLANIA LINE CLOSED
10’ width restriction in place at Sandy Creek Bridge

LYNCHBURG-The US 58 East Bridge over Sandy Creek was damaged by a tractor-trailer yesterday and a 10’ width restriction has been put in place while inspection is completed and repairs made.

The eastbound travel (right) lane on the structure is closed to traffic because the bridge rail is loose in some sections and missing in others. In addition, guardrail leading to the structure has been damaged.

It is anticipated that the work on the structure will be complete by early April, weather permitting.
