VDOT WILL CONTINUE TO RESPOND TO STORM
LYNCHBURG - (4 p.m.) Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are continuing to clean up after the snowstorm that left roads snow-covered across the ten-county district earlier this week.
Crews have pushed snow on every major route in the district and at least once on every secondary road. Flurries today and drifting snow from the prior storm may create some additional icy conditions overnight and motorists should be alert.
Motorists should also be aware to the possibility of additional wintry weather in the coming days. VDOT has already inventoried materials and checked equipment to ensure that all response operations can proceed unhindered.
Road conditions and other real-time travel information can be found on the 511 Virginia website, the free VDOT 511 mobile app or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia. VDOT updates are also on Facebook and the district’s Twitter account, @VaDOTLynchburg.
