ROUTE 334 (COLONY RD) WORK TO TAKE PLACE

LYNCHBURG – Motorists should be alert to various operations, including work on sidewalks,   line markings and pavement on Route 334, Colony Road in Amherst County beginning the week of September 21, 2015.    

Crews under contract to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin upgrading and repairing sidewalks. The work will take place between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Traffic control devices will be in place and flaggers will be used in the work zones. Motorists can expected minor delays.

In addition, permanent line marking will be removed and temporary centerline markings installed in advance of latex paving. Following paving operations, the permanent markings will be installed again. Flaggers, signs and other traffic control devices will alert motorists to these operations and will provide direction. Delays are possible and caution is urged.
