PAVEMENT TESTING TO TAKE PLACE IN CAMPBELL COUNTY
LYNCHBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be conducting pavement tests involving drilling at two high traffic volume locations in the coming weeks. Due to the traffic volume of those locations, the work will take place during overnight and early morning hours to reduce the disruption to motorists.
Testing will begin on Monday evening at 10:00 pm and end prior to 6 am on Tuesday morning. Work will begin on Monday, March 23 at the intersection of Timberlake and Waterlick Roads. The following Monday, March 30, work will take place at the intersection of Route 29 and Route 685.
The schedule may be changed due to availability of manpower and equipment or weather conditions.
The project will involve closing several lanes to traffic. Traffic controls will be in place and VDOT crews will be assisted by personnel from the Virginia State Police.
