LANE CLOSED ON US 29 SOUTH BRIDGE OVER BANISTER RIVER
Structure is located south of Chatham

LYNCHBURG – A lane of the Route 29 South bridge over Banister River in Pittsylvania County south of the Town of Chatham has been closed to traffic for repairs and traffic control devices are in place to alert motorists to this change in traffic pattern.

The structure, built in 1983, was being cleaned when damage to the metal joint was discovered. Repairs will be made as soon as possible; however, the closure may last several days.
