LANE CLOSED FOR REPAIRS ON PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY STRUCTURE
LYNCHBURG – One lane of the bridge over Norfolk-Southern Railroad on Route 15 in Prince Edward County near the Charlotte County lane will closed for repairs beginning Tuesday, May 5.
During a recent inspection of the structure, some deterioration of the concrete deck was noted. The Lynchburg District Structure and Bridge Section conducted a preliminary evaluation and determined that repairs were warranted and a more in-depth evaluation will also be conducted. The evaluation and repairs may take several weeks.
A temporary signal will be installed to allow motorists safe access to the structure.
The 2013 annual average daily traffic volume for this section of roadway is 1700 vehicles per day.
