TERRY MEADOWS, JR., P.E.  NAMED VDOT LYNCHBURG DISTRICT CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

LYNCHBURG- Terry Meadows, Jr. P.E., has been named district construction engineer for the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), replacing Robert Guercia, P.E., who transitioned to a management role in preliminary engineering and program investment management.

In his new role, Meadows will oversee the District’s Materials Section, as well as construction staff, including the area construction engineers, the Construction Program Management Office, construction managers and inspectors.

Meadows began his VDOT career in 1997 as a transportation engineer trainee. In ensuing years, he held a variety of roles, including area construction engineer, roadway design team leader and, most recently, assistant district bridge engineer. He was also a project manager for Hurt & Proffitt, Inc.

A graduate of the Halifax County High School and the University of Virginia with a degree in Civil Engineering, Meadows will, according to Chris Winstead, P.E., Lynchburg District administrator, “deliver our district’s construction and maintenance contracts safely, with quality, on budget, (and) on time by working together with our contracting partners, residencies, district section and central office.”
