Lane Closures Set for US 460 Bypass in Appomattox

LYNCHBURG – Motorists may encounter some traffic delays on the US 460 Appomattox Bypass beginning Monday, July 21.

Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will remove and replace a concrete slab on the westbound portion of the roadway. The right lane and shoulder of US 460 Bypass will be closed between the Route 24 bridge and the Route 26 bridge.

Once the concrete slab is removed and the area thoroughly cleaned and prepared, a new concrete slab will be moved. The concrete will need to cure to the proper strength before the work is completed and the lane closure removed.  It is anticipated that the lane and shoulder will reopen by Monday, July 28; however, this is dependent upon weather and other conditions.
