DELAYS LIKELY ON US 29 BYPASS IN AMHERST COUNTY
Tractor-trailer accident creating congestion

LYNCHBURG – As a result of an accident involving a tractor-trailer this morning on the US 29 Bypass, Monacan Parkway near Route 210 in Amherst County, motorists should expect delays and congestion throughout the early part of the day.

One lane of US 29 southbound is currently open while plans are made to unload the trailer. Once this is complete, both lanes southbound will be closed so that wreckers can right the vehicle in preparation for removal.

During the road closure, traffic will be detoured via Route 130, Route 29 Business and Route 210.

No additional information is available at this time.
