MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT TO ROAD CONDITIONS
LYNCHBURG – Minor flooding and roadway debris have been reported on a number of roads in the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The Lynchburg District is comprised of the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Prince Edward.
As of 9:00 a.m., roads were closed due to flooding in Campbell, Charlotte, Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties. In addition, downed trees or other debris were reported in Amherst, Buckingham, and Charlotte Counties.
Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in heavy rain. Should motorists encounter flooded roads, remember “Turn around, don’t drown.”
