Curb and gutter activities are associated with Candlers Mountain Road Bridge project

LYNCHBURG – Motorists who regularly use the right turn lane from Mayflower Drive to Candlers Mountain Road in the City of Lynchburg will need to seek an alternate route from Wednesday, April 10 to Tuesday, April 16 while curb and gutter work is being done as part of ongoing bridge work.  Motorists will not be able to make a right turn from Mayflower Drive to Candlers Mountain Road during this timeframe.

Crews will replace the curb and gutter in an area within 200 feet of the Candlers Mountain Road /Mayflower Drive intersection. Message boards and other traffic control devices will alert motorists to this change in traffic pattern.

The Candlers Mountain Road Bridge project has been underway since April 2012 and is expected to be substantially complete in May with two lanes of traffic on the rehabilitated structure and the left turn lane into River Ridge Mall reopened.
