ICY ROAD CONDITIONS POSSIBLE TONIGHT AND INTO EARLY FRIDAY
Sleet, freezing drizzle, cold rain, light snow possible

LYNCHBURG – Wintry weather conditions are possible across portions of the state tonight and into Friday, including in the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

VDOT crews will monitor conditions and apply chemicals and/or abrasives, as appropriate to assist with melting and traction.

If travel is necessary during the storm, motorists should check current road conditions by calling 511 or visiting www.511Virginia.org before venturing out. In addition, drivers should pay particular attention to bridges, overpasses, ramps, and shady spots where ice may form first.

The Lynchburg District covers the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Prince Edward.
