DESIGN PUBLIC HEARING SET ON ROUTE 130 PROJECT
Proposed project will replace bridge over Pedlar River

LYNCHBURG- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing in August to show plans for the proposed improvements to the section of Route 130 (Elon Road) in the vicinity of Route 635 (Buffalo Springs Turnpike).

The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. at Pleasant View Elementary School Gymnasium, 229 Dancing Creek Road, Monroe.  In case of inclement weather, the hearing will be held at the same time and location on Thursday, August 29.

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss plans to replace the structurally deficient bridge and approaches over Pedlar River. During construction the existing bridge will be closed and an onsite detour provided.

No formal presentations will be made at the meeting; however, staff will be on hand to discuss project information.

Citizens may provide oral or written comments at the hearing or submit them by September 6 (September 8 for inclement weather) to Raina Rosado, project manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 4219 Campbell Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501.  Comments may also be emailed to lynchburginfo@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “Route 130 over Pedlar River Public Hearing Comment” in the subject line.
