VDOT Employment News
LYNCHBURG—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announces the Location and Design Section appointments of Sharon White, P.E. and Clayton Thomas.
White, an 11-year employee of the Department, has been named the Lynchburg District Locality Engineer. In this position, she will manage and represent VDOT on all locally-administered projects. These projects include the revenue sharing, urban initiative and enhancement programs. A licensed professional engineer, White has a BS in Physics and Civil Engineering from Longwood and Old Dominion Universities, respectively, and an MBA from Averett University. She has worked in a number of areas at VDOT, including her most recent position in Programming and Investment Management section.
Thomas, an employee of VDOT for over 16 years, has been named Roadway Designer-Contract Administrator. In this role, he will be responsible for delivering VDOT “No Plan” projects to advertisement. Thomas has worked in both the Amherst and Appomattox VDOT Residencies, as a project engineer on portions of the US 29, Monacan Parkway and, most recently, in land development.
