ROUTE 650 TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Motorists to use signed detour

LYNCHBURG—Motorists will face a temporary road closure and signed detour due to the replacement of the Route 650 (Twenty-Two Road) Bridge over Lockett Creek in Prince Edward County.

The road will be closed from the intersection with Route 658 (Five Forks Road) to the intersection with Route 626 (Pin Oak Road) beginning Monday, February 28, weather permitting.  The work is scheduled to be complete by May 6, 2011 and is being done by crews with the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

During the closure motorists will use the following signed detour: Route 658 (Five Forks Road)  to Route 626 (Pin Oak Road) and back to Route 650 (Twenty-Two Road).  The detour is approximately seven (7) miles in length.

Questions or comments about this project may be directed to Mr. Danny R. Torrence in the District Structure and Bridge Section at 434-947-6559.
