ROUTE 642 PUBLIC HEARING – TUESDAY, OCT. 19
VDOT to meet with citizens about proposed safety improvements

LYNCHBURG—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a Location and Design Public Hearing for proposed safety improvements to Route 642 (Meadville Road) in Halifax County.  The Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 19 between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Meadville Elementary School (1011 Meadville School Loop) in Nathalie. 

The primary purpose of the project is to improve mobility by constructing 1.1 miles of new roadway to current standards.  The project is proposed to begin 0.66 mile north of Route 57 and end 0.10 mile south of Route 501. 

No formal presentations will be made at the hearing; however, staff will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.
