COMMUNITY BRIEFING TO BE HELD ON ROUTE 29 NORTH BRIDGE PROJECT
Tye River Bridge and approaches to be reconstructed
LYNCHBURG – American Infrastructure, Design-Build Contractor on the Route 29 North Tye River Reconstruction project and representatives with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will meet with citizens about the project.
A community briefing is scheduled on Wednesday, October 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson County High School. No formal presentation will be made; however, staff will available to answer questions concerning the construction schedule and traffic impacts.
The project will begin approximately 1000 feet south of the northbound bridge and end approximately 1000 feet north of the bridge. During construction one lane of traffic in either direction will use the southbound bridge. Crossovers will be constructed at either end of the structure to facilitate this movement.
Work on the approximately $6.7 million project is scheduled for completion in late 2012.
