SOME ROADS REOPEN, OTHERS REMAIN CLOSED
Downed trees and power lines create problems

LYNCHBURG – While the major roads throughout the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are clear, some secondary routes remain closed following the Sunday/Monday snowstorm.

Routes 47 and 746 at the Route 642 intersection in Charlotte County reopened this morning; however, the following routes remain closed at this time due to downed trees and/or power lines:

Charlotte County:
* Route 680 between US 15/15 Business and Route 652
* Route 746 at the Route 649 intersection

Halifax County:
* Route 625 between Routes 624 and 626
* Route 633 between Route 634 and the dead end
* Route 644 between Routes 645 and 754

Motorists are reminded to use caution when driving on secondary roads and subdivision streets and to remember that whatever melts today will likely refreeze.
