ROAD CONDITION UPDATE - 3:15 P.M.
Motorists urged to use caution; refreeze likely in most locations

LYNCHBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has made substantial progress today with the help of warmer temperatures and sunshine; however, anything that melted today will likely refreeze as temperatures drop tonight.  Motorists should use caution and avoid travel if possible during overnight hours.

Temperatures during the overnight and morning hours of Tuesday are predicted to be in the teens to low 20’s and a frosty haze is possible.  All of this may contribute to further icing.  VDOT crews will continue treating roadways with salt and sand to combat overnight refreezing as needed.
