UPDATE: ROADS CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING
Roads closed as of 7:30 a.m.
As of 7:30 a.m., portions of the following roads are reported closed: (updates shown in italics)
Addition/changes to earlier reports: Routes 603, 671, 677, 685, 688, 703, 718, 878, 880, 896
Remaining closed: Routes 618, 631, 637, 683, 792, 938 and 951 (pipe washed out – inaccessible from Route 622 to dead end)
In addition, there are reports of downed trees and debris at various locations throughout much of the southern portion of ten-county district located in south-central Virginia. The district includes the counties Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Campbell, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Nelson, Pittsylvania and Prince Edward.
As daylight occurs and more traffic hits the roads, it is likely that additional reports of blocked roads will be received. For the most up-to-date information, call 511 or visit www.511Virginia.org.
