TRAFFIC ALTERNATING ON ROUTE 29 SOUTH FOLLOWING ACCIDENT
NELSON COUNTY – Traffic is once again moving on Route 29 South (Thomas Nelson Highway) following a tractor trailer accident this afternoon at Route 615 (Thurmond Hollow Lane).
Currently, one lane of U.S. 29 South is open at a time during clean up operations after a tractor trailer hauling scrap metal overturned. Earlier, cars and small trucks were detoured and tractor trailers were not allowed on the detour and had to find alternate routes or wait for the roadway to open later this afternoon.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the area and expect delays.
