NEW TRAFFIC SIGNALS OPERATIONAL on U.S. 501 in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG – New traffic signals installed to allow safe access to Route 501 from Route 460 /29 near the Lynchburg/Campbell County line are operational and motorists should be alert to changing conditions.

Installation of the lights began a few weeks ago and the lights were put on “blinking” mode earlier this week to alert motorists. The lights were fully-activated today.

Previously, motorists traveling Route 460/29 from the Monacan Parkway or Concord wanting to go to Rustburg via Route 501 South had to cross over Route 501 north- and southbound without a protected movement. Now, traffic will stop on Route 501 to allow these motorists safe access.
